National Poetry Month IV

Free Verse

April snow -
     with her delicate frostiness
     puts to shame the cherry blossoms

She is
     luminous, white, diamond, sparkle
     blushed with the faintest rose. . .
     apologetic
          and embarrassed
     to be late.

Or so very early.

Either way
     we are unprepared.
     Untrimmed lawns, pollinating trees
     fetid spring, rutting animals
     
She blankets excrement.
