After high school, Hugh Jackman spent a year teaching Physical Education. He returned to study at the University of Technology, Sydney, graduating in 1991 with a BA in Communications. In his final year of university, he took a drama course to make up additional credits. ​​This led him to his future at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

Although I didn't realize this until 2018, I was predestined to love Hugh Jackman because I love the woman who became his wife. Deborra-Lee Furness played the mother of my childhood crush David in Disney's "Newsies." I wouldn't encounter Hugh Jackman until he played Wolverine, in the X-Men film series from 2000 to 2018, for which he holds the Guinness World Record for "longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero."
